I can't wait to go back to Iceland and spend more time there. It has the most sublime geography and natural phenomena that I've ever seen. Despite the fact that its called Iceland, the country is temperate and considerably greener than its northwest neighbor Greenland. Story goes that Greenland was inhabited by an exiled murderer from Iceland, named Erik the Red. It seems that Erik was an early marketing manager, calling it Greenland to attract settlers.
This mesmerizing photo of the aurora borealis over Icelandic ice flows looks as if it was colored in by a set of green pencils.
