It's hard to think ahead to next Summer when the Fall race series are still in full force. But now is a perfect time to get a glimpse of the seasons to come. Fashion designer and Puma creative director, Hussein Chalayan explores the language of wind and flight for his S/S 2012 Collection. While the designer is known for his high-concept couture, Puma has its well-heeled foot in the yachting world. It makes for some fresh takes on sportswear.
Influenced by sailing and kite flying, Chalayan captures their aerodynamics and industrial details and transforms traditional tailoring. The fluid forms and lightweight fabrics, such as mesh panels, lightweight nylon, and tyvek, will be a breath of fresh air on and off the regatta circuit.
